| Back in July, the first teasers (one is below) for Zack Snyder, Chris Nolan and David Goyer's take on Superman, Man Of Steel, opted for a moodier tone than most Supes adventures. It's a tone that's most definitely continued in the first official full trailer, which you can watch above. It's clear that Snyder and co are going for a heightened reality feel, but this new footage also offers a little more of the hefty scope of the film. Yes, we get lots of shots of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent looking solemn, but there are also visions of a big battle, Clark on fire, Russell Crowe's Jor-El and Amy Adams. Oh, and a certain Mr Michael Shannon as Zod. Kneel! But the real co-stars here are Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Kevin Costner as Jonathan, both trying to impart wisdom to the young Clark as he struggles with his place in the world. It also appears that we'll get to see a teenage Clark helping some schoolmates out of a hairy bus crash and that giving him something of an existential crisis. It's definitely looking promising, and we quite like how they're holding back some of the spectacle while giving us enough of the flavour to whet our appetites. What say you lot? Tells us on Twitter and in the comments below. Man Of Steel touches down on June 14, and we're seriously looking forward to it. P.S. if you want to get a closer look at the characters seen in the new trailer, take a look at this screengrab gallery we've put together for you below... |
