| Ten years after writer-director Eytan Fox’s Yossi & Jagger, the former (Ohad Knoller) is now a closeted Tel Aviv cardiologist, still mourning the fellow IDF soldier who died in his arms in battle. On a trip to Eilat, clutching his copy of Thomas Mann’s Death In Venice, he encounters a young conscript (Oz Zehavi), at ease with his sexuality. It’s a something of a rarity (and a relief) these days to watch a movie about a solitary male protagonist who isn’t a nutjob killer, and this is a perceptive, warm-hearted work, anchored by Knoller’s impressively less-is-more performance.
