Admittedly, given the size of the arm and the main character of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, this is most likely a chimp's arm. But "Chimp With A Carbine" just didn't scan so smoothly. Anyhoo, here, for your eyeballing pleasure, is the first teaser image from the follow-up to Rise, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Taglined "Evolution becomes revolution", which has been the rallying cry for the film in these early stages, it's a teaser in every sense of the word because director Matt Reeves hasn't even locked in a cast yet, let alone begun filming. We do know that Andy Serkis will be back to play brain-boosted, rebellion-stirring chimp Caesar using the frankly astonishing performance capture technology on display in the first film. And you've got to figure that the Weta team will have been making some tweaks to it in the time between cranking out the last shot of Rise and the start of Dawn. With a script from Scott Z Burns, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa, Dawn will push the ape revolution further down its path as the human race weakens thanks to the virus spreading just as quickly. The film is currently set to hit cinemas on May 23, 2014.
