License To Drive

If, in 1988, you were a teenager watching Coreys Haim and Feldman reteam after The Lost Boys, then you’ll remember License To Drive as a riot of hot cars, hotter girls, and super-cool parties.

Leave it that way.

Watched now, TV director Greg Beeman’s coming-of-ager - a bequiffed, open-mouthed Haim trashes his granddad’s Caddy while trying to impress a young Heather Graham on a date - plays like an idling star vehicle built from stolen parts (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Risky Business).

It’s not bad, but it’s not Superbad either.
